05/19/2006: "My First "Wild Blue and Free" Painting"

music: Born to Run, Springsteen
mood: Unsure

Well here's my take on the historic and overgrown part of the Oatlands Catholic Cemetery -

small-tomb1 (9k image)

Larger view is in my online gallery (real thing's about 22 inches x 18)...

Anyhow, I think I want to concentrate on the feel of a place we visit. That's what came over me when I thought about how to paint the places Ruby and I visited last weekend.

Ruby's ace with a camera, so for the total realism and atmosphere, that's so cool to have. I reckon if I can just let it come out however the place hits me, especially the mood, maybe I've achieved a little.

Guess you can judge for yourself. Now back to being the recluse. Cheers all,

I like this style. I can see the brush strokes in the larger image in your gallery. Very free flowing, atmoshperic. Is that a word? Please keep painting Kip. Have fun. xxx
