10/13/2006: "Be seein' ya big horse"

If there's a heaven for horses, then I reckon my old girl Sada is up there tonight kicking up her heels and running free with all her flags flying.

Today it was time to let my old girl go, the winter had taken it out of her, and at over 30 years she was feeling her age. I knew something was up when I couldn't even coax her to eat an apple. We're lucky up here, our local vets Louise and Stuart love their animals as much as I do, so it was handled peacefully. She just lay her head beside me and literally went to sleep. A faithful mate to the end.

Be seeing you someday old girl, enjoy your well earned rest.

Thanks folks... ace hearing from other horse and animal lovers out there. Horses are certainly intelligent and sensitive critters... 6 times better senses than us people I've heard! Not that I've always got that much sense about me wink Gypsy, my other mare, is in good health and as frisky as ever and she's only a young 'un so I'm looking forward to many more years friendship ahead on the horse front. Cheers all! Thanks again for leaving a comment, I love reading them. **Kip**

I have now watched all your online films, visited each gallery and wish to commend you on the wonderful unique way you are presenting Tasmania. You are being wonderful advocates for our great State.

Sorry to read of your horse Kip, as a vet I know how hard it is to make these hard decisions. You took the humane action, my sympathy still on your loss. RB

I cryed when my horse was taken away after she broke her leg as there wasn't any space to bury her in our pasture. Now your horse and mine can be some where playing together. xxxx
