You'll be amazed what YOU can do!
G'day! I wish I knew you personally so I could affirm that you ARE a creative talented person. And I mean YOU reading this blog... I reckon the truth is we all have the desire to create, but often we're afraid of how "good" our piece of art, craft, music others will say it is...
I'd be proud if I'd done the painting in this blog entry, but nope, I didn't... I wont embarass the actual artist by naming 'em... however they hadn't painted before. Art can be risk, personal risk, but it's worth it! Why not try something creative yourself today and email us in a photo? Would be ace to see! Cheers all! Kip

Midnight Adventure

Sometimes it really is mind-blowing to look at life through someone else's eyes - or camera in this case. Me, I was keeping a close eyes on the dirt track as we drove through the bush to get as close to the ravine as we could... I never knew there could be such beauty in raindrops on a windshield! The
large web view is in our general
on-location photo album, but I tell you what, the actual printed photo is just amazing. So's Ruby for that matter in how she sees stuff. Cheers all, have a good one!

Ghost Skull on our Webcam last night?!
music: New song I wrote
mood: Happy
Hi everyone! Regular viewer "Beefeater" emailed in a still from webcam last night and I'd noticed it too!!
So the blog isn't too slow to load I've put a small version at left and under it what I think the shadowy shape is - a Tasmanian Devil skull!! What do you guys think?
I'm camping out this weekend at my bush retreat so I can't check yet if maybe the skull shape has come from the outside Store light reflecting back off a window display Kip setup. That's probably the answer to the mystery, still how cool hey!! It would be accidental even so. Or maybe when I get back to the WB&F HQ it really will turn out to be something unexplained!! Woo hoo!!
My love to everyone and thanks for all the lovely emails lately. Ruby xx

From Snow to Summer Snakes?!
It's hard to believe that just a few days ago there was snow covering our pasture and paddocks. And now it's back to being so warm and dry that the snakes are on the move! However the one I grabbed in this photo was not about to go anywhere, an eagle had already made sure to that. The most common snake here on our property is the Tiger snake, and it's quite venemous. This one though was a young copperhead (without it's head
), another potentially deadly Aussie bush snake that is normally fairly non-aggressive.
One thing you do not do around here is swim in the waterhole up near our main house... snakes are usually there first, and they can stay underwater for up to 20 minutes... so what looks like a peaceful swimming spot is more of a restaurant of frogs and other billabong life for our hungry Aussie reptiles. Respect them, and they'll respect you - besides it's all part of living out here in the great rural "outback" of country Tasmania - from Tassie Devils to snakes, you just never know what will be on your doorstep next!
