I've been lucky that since 1996 I've been able to combine my professional racing with getting to meet young folks from around Australia and even overseas as part of our "OzGurus Outreach Racing" project. It's ace fun meeting Australia's future!

Life isn't always easy, there's so many tough choices and pressures around today. It's the ultimate race. Time's can get tough, and things can go wrong without warning just like when I'm racing. Don't give up! Don't ever think you're a loser! Stuff happens, and when it does, you DESERVE to get help to get back on your feet, just as my pitcrew so often gets me going again despite my own mistakes.

When life throws a challenge your way it's easier to overcome if you know the importance of taking a "pit stop" and letting team-mates and professionals help get you back on track. Look around you, at your teachers, community groups, friends and family, and USE THEM. Life's "pit crew"! Grab a phone book and call a help line or a mate if things feel really bad; it's a brave thing to do, and it's no different to me letting my mechanics and team-mates get me back out on track.
